Flood DVDs available for mailing for Christmas
The popularity of “The Flood of 2008” DVD sales has prompted the producer of the video to offer a special mailing in time for Christmas giving.Videogenics announced this week that it will mail the flood DVD anywhere in the United States for $15.00.
“We’ve sold nearly 4,000 DVD’s in the past three months and sales at the 80 outlets in Southern Wisconsin continue,” states Howard Gage, owner of Videogenics.“Many individuals have told us they’ve mailed the DVD to friends and relatives to show them the extent of the devastation that struck the Rock River this summer. We felt we could make it easier for others to do the same by mailing DVD’s for them.It makes an easy and affordable Christmas gift.”
Anyone desiring to take advantage of the offer should contact Gage at Videogenics in the Olde Towne Mall in Janesville at (608) 754-8411 or online at howard@videogenics.com.In addition to the $15.00, individuals should provide the mailing address of the recipient and, if they so desire, include a note to the recipient to be included in the mailing.
As has been the practice, $10.00 will be donated for flood relief purposes in Jefferson and RockCounties. For RockCounty sales, flood victims will be assisted through the flood fund created by both Rock County United Ways. For JeffersonCounty flood victims, the dollars will be distributed through the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin.
“The United Ways in RockCounty are currently recruiting volunteers to sit on the committee that will make grants to local flood victims” said Gail Graham, President of United Way of NorthRockCounty.“We are meeting with local businesses affected by the flooding now and we will be meeting with homeowners soon to assess their needs. The recovery process takes longer than most people expect due to issues with FEMA, the Small Business Administration, insurance companies and local government. All of these groups are working within their own guidelines to provide whatever help they can to victims. We hope that our dollars will be able to fill some of the gaps.”
